Francisco Baptista Fino has been developing a new range of Monte da Penha wines together with award-winning wine- maker Susana Esteban who is recognized for her work both nationally and internationally. In 2012, she was awarded the most prestigious award that a winemaker can receive in Portugal, the title of “Winemaker of the Year”, by the wine magazine “Revista de Vinhos”.

Both winemakers share a passion for the region of Portalegre and the mountain of São Mamede.

Monte da Penha ́s philosophy is to show the “terroir” through its wines; the altitude, microclimate and the unique characteristics of the Portalegre region that contribute to the quality and distinction of the wines. Wines with excellent freshness, structure, sophisticated and that age extremely well.
